Archetypal Astrology & Tech?

Building an astrology brand in the tech ecosystem doesn't seem so straightforward because in some ways the tech community is the very bastion of reductionist Newtonian thinking.

This for good reason, as tech entrepreneurship has been the very foundation of progress and economic growth over the past few decades, as capital is infused into efficient machines which can replicate what previously was more expensive or time intensive to do. It is through the enlightenment values of reason, clarity, rationality, that the stupor of medieval superstition was overthrown, opening the era we have all been born into today.

There have been many interesting pushes between astrology and the tech VC community, for example projects like @costarastrology and @thepattern are prominent ones which come to mind. There is also the Web3 project initiated by @marenaltman (who dropped out of our grad program at @CIIS_SF) with @AstraceAstro which I believe has some funding though apparently not institutional funding according to Crunchbase. Of course there are stalwarts of the astrology world like @SolarFireteam which seems to have been bootstrapped to this stage.

For many friends that I have spoken with, their reasoning in order to engage the VC community has gone something like this: "VCs may or may not believe that astrology is real, but they would certainly be interested to note that there is a large and active market for astrology products"

I think that is a decent enough stance, but for us at Numinous Realm, it doesn't quite hit the mark. We have been at the vanguard of a scientific revolution. As my fiance and cofounder @SomyaThakker puts it... the moment we are currently in is like the robust debate in physics at the dawn of the 20th century, with multiple competing views and theories in how atomic science and quantum mechanics is actually operative.

We are in a similar moment. The Age of Astrology, or the Age of Enchantment as we like to say at Numinous Realm has dawned. The fact of the matter is there is an unexplainable correlation between planetary alignments and world history (material events, psychological moods, breakthroughs, artistic movements, etc) which can be repeatedly and reliably witnessed.

For us at Numinous Realm, our goal is to figure out how this works, and how to bring it to the best use for humanity's benefit. Like the discovery of fire that can be used to burn, and also warm, and also cook.

It is not good enough for us at Numinous Realm that "there is a market for astrology"... that is a good start. But really we are advocating for the push of science into this new era of multivalence, qualitative factors, the collective unconscious, and more.

In other words, it is the end of the era of reductionism--for all of its glorious efficiency that it brought, as well as heartache and nihilism to billions around the world. The investors want us to fit into their box, and we are saying there is a new box.

We want to integrate the concerns of commerce, but we want commerce to also integrate the reality of what is going on here with astrological transits and world events. In commercial terms, the aim is to make a killing that definitively establishes this new paradigm as a reality--based on the distributed decision making of our audience at Integrate This --rather than relying on gate keepers sitting up in their ivory towers of judgement from the world of science, academia, or venture capital.
