"1624"

Art

Presenting “1624” (Mixed Media, 36” x 48”, 2018), a new work of art commissioned by Anthony Tumbiolo, founder of JAKT. This work remixes timeless values enshrined in the planetary archetypes of Saturn (structure), Uranus (innovation) and Jupiter (growth) with the living spirit of one of NYC’s most dynamic technology studios. The work is named after the year 1624 which saw the founding of Manhattan’s first commercial settlement. “1624” features a whimsical, sculptural interpretation of Manhattan with expressionist overtones.

It has been a privilege to spend eight months gestating the creative, spiritual, and aesthetic challenges embedded in the project. Materials involved include acrylics, oils, putty, 24k gold, thermodynamic plastic, and a smart bulb capable of iPhone customization or synchronization to the day/night cycle.
